πΌ Role: Alliances Field Engineer
We are hiring an Alliances Field Engineer to help our largest partners β including Intel, Nvidia, Google, Dell, HP, Accenture, Tata, and others β understand and embrace our open-source platform for their businesses and customers.
Our worldwide field engineering team applies expert insights to real-world customer problems, enabling enterprise adoption of:
- Ubuntu
- OpenStack
- Kubernetes
- AI/MLOps
- A wide range of open-source technologies
We are experts in the entire open-source stack β from kernel to desktop, from cloud to edge β and we also speak the language of business, helping organizations build reliable, efficient, and cost-effective solutions.

As an Alliances Engineer, you will support partners across multiple alliance types:
- π§© OEMs (Hardware Manufacturers)
- π GSIs (Global System Integrators)
- π» ISVs (Independent Software Vendors)
- π Channel Partners
- βοΈ Public Cloud Alliance Partners
You will work closely with partner teams to adopt Canonicalβs technologies, and with business leaders to define joint go-to-market programs from a technical standpoint.

π Location
This is a home-based (remote) role β we are hiring worldwide.
π§ What Your Day Will Look Like
- π§ Understand Ubuntu, Linux, networking, and services in real-world environments
- βοΈ Architect cloud infrastructure solutions such as Kubernetes, Kubeflow, OpenStack, Ceph, and Spark β both on-premises and in public clouds (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- π§± Architect and integrate popular open-source software including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Kafka, Cassandra, and NGINX
- π€ Help partners offer and design joint solutions using Canonical technologies in the data center and public cloud
- π§© Design and publish joint Reference Architectures and conduct technical validations with partners
- π Prepare and run onboarding sessions/workshops with partner teams to promote Canonicalβs products and solutions
- π Collaborate globally with highly skilled engineers and alliance teams to deliver value-driven outcomes
